I’ve had a week to process and download everything I learned in a weekend of taking Balanced Body’s Anatomy in Three Dimensions with the amazing Dr T of http://www.drtsanatomies.com/. I knew I’ve wanted to take the course for a while but there was very little reviews out there. I was apprehensive going in, but it prep work and the two days of intensity were beyond worth it.
Having done several Balanced Body virtual seminars and events I know they have a practical educational philosophy in taking http://Anatomy.Pilates.com. I definitely had nothing but positive takeaways from the weekend.
- I struggled with a good chunk of the Anatomy concepts when I was studying for my Personal Training Certification 5 years ago, I only wish I had know about this course then. I think it would’ve led to a lot less anxiety about not having things clicked.
- As a crafter it’s been too long since I worked with clay. I forgot how much I really do enjoy the medium. There were tricks in my brain I hadn’t used in 20 years that came right back to me.
- Fitness is really a major part of the wellness spectrum, I’ve known that but it was so emphasized over the weekend. When you hear a good Pilates Instructor means less time with a Physical Therapist something really clicks.
- The years of yo-yo dieting and going heavy in the weight room did some damage to my body. I need to be more conscious of my posture and more diligent with my recovery work. It can’t be about stretching only when I feel stiff. I claim I can’t sit for long periods because it’s not in my nature. Dr. T pointed out I was inadvertently slouching and had a bit of kyphosis which I never would’ve thought.
- My cueing for certain exercises is going to be much stronger. When you end up in the gym under the pretense to lose weight you fall for a lot of the bro-science. Real science can make a lot more sense.
Within the first day of the workshop I had Trail Guide to the Body and its workbook ordered; for someone who go sick from both the Frog and Earthworm dissections it’s a big deal. I went into the weekend expecting that having the Integrated Movement Specialist credential would make me more trustworthy as a trainer. One week later I’m looking forward to taking Movement Principals over the summer and actively researching Comprehensive Pilates Teacher training.
An outstanding share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a co-worker
who had been conducting a little homework on this.
And he actually bought me lunch because I discovered it
for him… lol. So let me reword this….
Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to talk about this issue here on your web site.
